North Korea leaps forward, eh? I can't understand why there would be
disbelief that a communist state would engage in destructive collective
farming techniques for reasons unrelated to agricultural science or
economics. How short is the world's memory, anyway? Or is the problem, as a
good friend of mine once sadly observed, that only historians seem to care
about history...

You have my admiration (and sympathy) for having fought your way through all
that deathless revolutionary prose in order to find actual information.
